Our clinical research

At Cosmo, we go beyond tackling medical conditions; we empower life-changing confidence - for patients, healthcare professionals and partners. We do this by putting science and AI technology to work in innovative ways. Helping millions reclaim control of their gut, skin and hair health, physically and emotionally.

Here you can explore our areas of therapeutic focus, learn how our clinical trials work, and discover the research that shapes our approach to gut, skin and hair health.

What is a clinical trial?

Before a new treatment can be made available on the market to all potential patients, it must be deemed effective and well tolerated.

A clinical trial is a type of medical research study conducted on humans at authorized clinical sites, each under the supervision of a physician. This research aims to collect data on the safety and effectiveness of new drugs, medical devices, therapies, and interventions, which will be evaluated by the appropriate regulatory authorities to authorize their marketing and use in clinical practice.

Depending on the stage of development of the product being studied, a clinical study may involve the enrolment of a few dozen to several thousand participants, conducted at one or more clinical sites located in one or more countries around the world. These sites must receive guidance and be coordinated in accordance with applicable laws, in a way that ensures each participant is managed consistently with the others and that the data collected are uniform and reliable.

Please note

All compounds are either investigational or being studied for new uses. Efficacy and safety have not been established. There is no guarantee that they will become commercially available for the use(s) under investigation.

Diversity

We design our studies to include people from different backgrounds and communities, so our results are more meaningful and representative. Diversity in clinical trials means that the individuals included on a clinical trial match the disease burden within a given geography.

Transparency

Transparency in clinical trials means making information about how the trial is conducted, what it is studying, and what the results are open, accurate, and accessible to the public.  Cosmo’s clinical trials are always registered in public databases recognised by WHO (World Health Organization) such as ClinicalTrials.gov and EU Clinical Trials Register, before they begin. This includes details about the purpose, methods, and who is sponsoring the study. At the end of the study, the outcomes of Cosmo’s clinical trials are published, whether the results are positive, negative, or inconclusive.  Transparency in clinical trials is essential for ethical research, scientific integrity, and public confidence. It ensures that medical advances are based on complete and honest evidence, helping everyone benefit from safe and effective healthcare.
